Danni build - February 12: Turning the cylinder

Time in the shop: 3 hours
Worked on: cylinder (4), partly complete.

Today I started on the cylinder. I centred the supplied material in the lathe and cut off the two pieces that would become the cylinder covers.

After a cleaning pass on the outside, I turned the outside contours, then used a drill and boring bar to make the centre bore.

Where I stopped

The cylinder still needed its mounting holes and the flat for the steam chest. Those jobs were left for another day.
