ChipWhisperer active
Open-source toolchain for side-channel power analysis and fault injection.

ChipWhisperer is my open-source hardware and software platform for research into side-channel power analysis and fault injection: the family of well-known attacks that can break even a perfect crypto implementation by watching what the chip does rather than what it computes. I’ve talked about it since 2013, starting with a Black Hat USA talk on low-cost power analysis techniques.
Hardware related to ChipWhisperer is now sold through NewAE Technology Inc., but it remains a open-source tool, and it has been widely used in both the academic and the industrial research community. A Google Scholar search turns up a few hundred papers that use it, which is a good way to find work built on it.
